Reba and Crosby are very grateful dogs. They have a great house or maybe they should make it plural. They were happy with the river, Charleroi, A-wall, little Boston, Canal Winchester, Upper Arlington, Monongahela or Destin. As long as they had beds and belly rubs they were good to go, rolling with the punches in 2018. Something about the magical fibers emitted in the fur.
Guess who was given the job to wait up for Santa and guard the cookies? For the second straight year Reba fell asleep on the job. This grateful dog is very thankful for all of her experiences in 2018. Merry Christmas! Happy Kwanza! Belated Happy Hanukkah!
Reba and Crosby are not quite sure how many days it is until Christmas. December 2018 is starting to feel like 2016 when the went from being homeless in Wisconsin, to snowbirds in Florida, to full time residents of Charleroi, PA. They are currently waiting for their floor project to be completed. In the mean time they checked on the elves that were putting up Christmas. Ok about the Poly! We have a really old house and while the furry […]
It may not be Farm Aid concert season, but it is the season to enjoy the harvest, give thanks for the food we eat, and support your local family farmer. This afternoon, I received a call from the Jones Turkey Farm. They have birds that need to be served for the holiday. One of our turkey farmer’s from this Thanksgiving is running a $2/lb special. He has lot’s of turkey’s looking for tables for this Christmas. He will be selling […]
It has been many years since we did a tour opener. This year the calendar worked out to put us near the Ohio State campus to catch the DMB fall tour kickoff. We were expecting a Where Are You Going. Check we got it. Dancing nancies. Check. Minarets. Check. Sweet emotion. The band looked like they were having fun. how big of a burger can you eat? Did we mention Son Of Thurman’s makes amazing burgers?. Here’s the set list. […]
Ok, we are starting a new tradition this year in Columbus, OH. We travelled with our Thanksgiving birds. One came from Leechburg (Pound’s Turkey Farm) and the other from Cabot (David Jones Farm). To answer the Farm Aid email, we do know where our food is coming from this year and we are truly thankful for having such great farmers around us. Pounds delivered to our hometown shop and Jones was a little drive away off of the Freeport-Butler Trail. […]
Did somebody say turkey time. . . This used to be the welcoming committee in Monroeville. I bet they were grass-fed. This year we will be getting our Turkeys from Cabot. Reba and Crosby have planned their trip to David Jones Farm. They will spare you the Post Gazette article talking about how he grows them and brings them to market. We will be following his advice to go Tuesday for the pick up, since it sounds like Monday is […]
Oh my who would do a Thanksgiving on a Saturday? Or even only have steak instead of Turkey. I guess we should call that Ryan’s giving. Yes he’s back in the chilly commonwealth. Maybe the sun will show up again. So we’ve heard really amazing things about the Maples. It sounds like they are on the scale of Luke and Mikes in the winter so we will be a rather large group. Filet, filet, filet filet. That’s to be sung […]
