The backyard is starting to take off as Crosby has been lingering on the back porch. She reminded me this morning that even up to her last day Reba kept nurturing the rose bush. Thanks for taking care of me this winter Reba. By the way Elle is still peeing on your old beds. Hope you and Dakota are swimming, sniffing and running.
The fun part about house cleaning is you just don’t know what you will find or where you will find it. In getting back to reviewing some family, friends, work and hospital history the photo’s are definitely memorable. Here’s a look back over the years. Click on the photo to see the whole picture.
In cleaning out my spam folder this morning I found a scorecard from a recent round of golf. Let’s just say sand, water, wetlands and golfballs don’t mix for some golfers, especially this casual one. If only the ball were bigger and it could be kicked, punted, thrown. . . Some people take towels and a chair to play in the sand, but it can be a little more fun with a wedge. Why does one who is not going […]
I’m not quite sure when it started, but there is something about a soft shell crab. While I’m not usually a fan of fried this or that, a soft shell crab is another story. The oozing texture is just a little bit of bay yummy. Their beef queso dip was a simple addition to the old Bar 48 queso. Definitely going for the baked oysters next time. Yummo, soft shell crabs in Alabama. Crosby did check out the pet trail […]
I was just scrolling through my old podcasts and Ted feed the last few days looking for things that are outside of my normal favorite list. One of the items that caught my eye were Ted’s about how to beautify those neighborhoods in big cities that have become forgotten. Art is one way to start change and get the direction to change. http://www.ted.com/talks/theaster_gates_how_to_revive_a_neighborhood_with_imagination_beauty_and_art
Until this past season the Charleroi Cougar boy’s soccer team usually hasn’t made it past the first round of the WPIAL playoffs, at least since the year in question. Name the year! Now for a bonus question let’s see if you can recognize one of the referee.
OK for those of you worried about Crosby, being an only. . .you can stop now. Ms. Crosby has increased all of the following: her mileage, time at day camp, doll house digging, visits to dog parks, road trips, morning belly rubs, evening game playing. Her walks have become hill climbs so taking photos, has been very difficult on the walks. This morning she sniffed with a puppy pit bull, popped in her sisters doll house and checked on the […]
Spring is beginning to happen in Pittsburgh. The NHL regular season is now over and the Penguins are beginning their 13th straight post-season this week going after Lord Stanley’s Cup. Crosby the four legged one met Stanley on Sunday at the dog park. Crosby also had a porch weekend barking at all the neighbors as they walked by the house. Side note, she was a very good girl. In reflecting on this first porch day of 2019, it’s good to […]
It’s amazing how far we both have walked. We’ve walked the shores of Lake Michigan, the Allegheny, Youghiogheny and Monongahela River banks, the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico together. Sometimes it was just us two sisters with mom and dad. And thanks to our extended family in Ohio, Florida or the river we may have been walking four wide. I realized that most of the walks may have been for exercise or just to sniff for boy pee, but […]
