Today’s daily prompt is a little too ironic.

Daily writing prompt
What brings you peace?
Listening to the waves.

Getting out in nature brings me peace.

Snuggling with Crawford after our morning walk gives me peace, especially after knowing how difficult it was for him to know he could just give up his belly to be loved when we first adopted him.

Getting home from soccer, getting in child’s pose and getting the down dog face wash greeting from Phoebe gives me peace.

Dancing under the stars brings me peace.

Paddling on the river looking for turtles and deer brings me peace.

Deep breathing next to my life partner reflecting on our day gives me peace, knowing that we are able to take on whatever is thrown at us.

happy birthday tootie! Love James!

bairdford united methodist church is about welcoming all with open arms and open hearts and open minds.

The irony of today’s prompt is all about timing.Yesterday we celebrated Tootie’s 95th birthday at her long time United Methodist Church. We started the service with the congregation serenading her to Happy Birthday before the service. We listened to the word together, read scripture together and prayed for world peace together trying to solidify the little community of Bairdford. However at the end of the service we learned that some of the members had been picked off by the evil that has been lurking within the United Methodist Congregation for the past few years. If you don’t know what I’m talking about or have been living under a rock here is some more info. Pick your own source, since you may or may not believe certain news outlets.

Here is what Scott A. Deuel chose to do back in 2023 and why he did it. I appreciate the thought that was given in his beliefs instead of being wrapped up in all the energy.

If the Catholic Church can begin to accept all people and teach love for each other over the rules of Canon Law, then maybe the Methodist Conservative movement should take a note from Pope Francis. I’m going to continue wearing my rainbow laces and my work to create safe spaces for all people to be who they are and go where they want to without fear. I choose to be an ally for all. Inclusion is not an option it is the only way. Don’t start wars at home when the world is already at war.

Build Communities not walls people.
