2021 is continuing like 2020. No pants, no problem, however the world of nonprofits still carries on with fundraising for research.
NF still needs funding for research and Riley’s Ralley Rats have almost raised $1000.
Riley’s River Rats are turning into Alley Rats this February to do a 2021-safe Virtual Cupid’s Undie Run and while it’s definitely fun to run through the streets in my undies, or ride the bike, or row the rower, or juggle a soccerball around the field. . . the real reason I’m doing it is to raise money for the millions of people who have neurofibromatosis (NF).
NF is a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on the nervous system, and it can cause a whole host of problems including blindness, deafness, chronic pain, and even cancer.
100% of net proceeds from Cupid’s Undie Run fund research through the Children’s Tumor Foundation, and we’re making serious progress. In fact, we just got the very first NF drug approved by the FDA earlier this year! Because of the clinical trials that we helped fund, Koselugo® (selumetinib) is now an approved treatment for some children with NF1. Now we’re working on additional clinical trials, including some for adults and people with NF2 and schwannomatosis, and we won’t be stopping until we have a cure to #EndNF!
