All the colors mix together–to grey. Summer 2026 has officially begun for Phoebe and Crawford.
It is summer when the Dave Matthews Band hits the road. The first concert broadcast was on Sirius tonight, so us dogs–Phoebe, Crawford and David all sat around and shaked some bootay. I’m a firm believer in singing and dancing with a group of people.
Either on a beach in Quintana Roo, in an amphitheater on the Ohio River, at the Greek in Berkley, inside the Bridgestone Arena, Lenovo Arena (PNC Bank at the time), Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, PNC Park, The Schottenstein Center, John Paul Jones, Madison Square Garden, The Izod Center or at a stadium that no longer exists like Three Rivers or RFK– the Dave Matthews Band has been bringing people together for over 30 years.
Our country is currently in a crisis of identity due to all the division being preached on the news. The third space that concerts occur in is special. It brings people together. People connect through the beat provided by Carter and Stefan add in the notes by Dave and Tim with Buddy, Rashawn and Jeff providing their power. Sometimes we are in the pit bumping into each other and other times we’re introducing Aidan, Belle and Liam in the lawn.
Sitting on the couch surrounded by sleepy pups, there is clarity when Dave sings–Eat Drink and Be Merry, for tomorrow we die–as he finishes up the set with Tripping Billies. Life is a fatal disease. We should make the most of our time on this planet. Life is so rich, we need to live it.

Watchtower
While tonight’s show covered David Bowie’s–Let’s Dance and Bob Dylan’s–All Along the Watchtower, I love all the Dave Covers. I struggle to choose just one cover. Here are some of my favorites.
Here are two performances from David Byrne that Dave has been known to play with.
Let’s come together this year in third spaces. It may be a concert or a playoff game. Let’s lift our voices and focus on creating unity.
