Soccer games on Mother’s Day? Who makes up the schedule?

Yep! That’s right another Mother’s Day on the pitch with two games for me. In thinking of all those times in 2009-2014 my mom would drive out to watch whatever game I officiated. Afterwards we would finally get to have a Mother’s Day dinner. In 2025, the league schedulers still haven’t gotten any smarter.

This year I had two Michigan teams come to Russelltown for Regional League games. My crew at least busted out our Pink Flags in honor of this special day.

I almost forgot to wish my favorite Dog Mom a Happy Mother’s Day! Crawford and Phoebe managed to somehow lick the salt off my face after soccer and revive me to acknowledge my awesome partner.

Let’s just say my world has been a little crazy in the month of May. It’s the 20th of May and I’m just working back to my Mother’s Day post for 2025. There has been some preparations to move a few folks out of their home in the State of Ohio. There was also a friendly agreement to do some 13.1 planning/training for Napa by doing some observation and real life application. Add in a storm that relocated Phoebe and Crawford for a week. Two road trips for Phoebe. The trips sent her to two different states and a chance to meet lots of new people and dogs. Some Ollie and Scarlet and Liam time. . .

I took it easy on Sunday after a three game set on Saturday.

About the author

Phoebe and Crawford are two Bridge to Home rescue dogs living their best life together in Aspinwall. They get out daily in nature, take their humans for walks and coffee. Peloton and Place is Crawford’s training game. When we are not sleeping on a couch, we are chasing squirrels and birds in our backyard.
