Were you ever woke?

Have you always been woke?

If you are American- as in United States of American — Do you understand why I ask this question?

Woke is good, woke is not a problem. Woke is an understanding of life, living and questioning.

On this Turkey Day 2024. I pray for peace in the world. I pray for a United States lead by a leader who can lead under God’s Grace and with the ability to understand humility and how the human condition should exist. Let that be my prayer this Thanksgiving Day 2024. I will not be running the Thanksgiving Day Race in Cincinnati with Lindsey this year like we did once upon a time. There will not be an Uncle Tom sighting with James on the mean streets of Cincy or an end of race Surprise at the Bungles Stadium. We will not be doing Turkey in the Suburbs of Cincy with Linds. Instead Linds has a Belle and a Chris and two family events on Turkey Day.

We now have a crew that has relocated to the Panhandled at Florida instead of OHIO. Hopefully they have embraced their new typical situations, in these typical times.

We have fought some Karens in Pennsylvania and won once, but now these same Karens have brought their toxic brew back to Washington county. We’ll keep the big door open for now– or we will hit you in your behind.

It’s only fitting that we continue the Dave Matthews songs series with this little ditty.

Take that line of the song for what it is. It is a mantra! In concert it’s a mantra of living life as we know it.

Today’s table side chat what do you pray for? Do you pray? How do you see the world? What’s wrong with being woke AF. We were raised to ask the five whys????? We were not raised to not blindly accept the way as it was but find a way to respectfully challenge the systems that existed. Somehow asking why is now WOKE AF and WOKE AF is a bad thing.

In the words of the Stern show long time guest Daniel Carver wake up white people. Ask why, why, why. Look out for each other now.
