American Independence

Let’s start our day with a childhood sing-a-long.

Yes this is NPR Tiny Desk

Let’s practice gratitude on this Independence Day. Let’s embrace the efforts that went into creating this country. The risk takers, the adventurers, the you name it. This became the land of opportunity. And now we present the

Fireworks, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet. Baseball, picnics and beaches. Swimming and running in the sprinkler.

Here is to reflection: a little reflection on this day for those who have served in war time and peace. Let’s keep those who have served in our prayers as they battle the scars (physical, emotional and psychological) of their service. Let’s remember the service of Larry, Stan, George, Denny, Kyle, Keith, Randy, Ron, Elmo, Cheech, Joe, Joe, Bill, Bing, Dick, Judy, Elenor, Chris, Tom, Nolan. . .and any other family members you’d like to include.

Let’s reflect on the hope that we will side with humanity and approach each person we meet with kindness and genuine empathy. Let’s also reflect on that one 4th of July at the Monongahela Aquatorium where we had to create a make shift stage due to flooding using a flatbed. Also that part where Joe and Stan borrowed a few port a potties from the bridge project.

Phoebe and Crawford wanted to remind me to remind y’all to handle fireworks responsibly and give your furry friends a safe secure place to hide away from the booms.

Let’s end our night with the Capitol Fourth on PBS.

No fireworks for us please

About the author

Phoebe and Crawford are two Bridge to Home rescue dogs living their best life together in Aspinwall. They get out daily in nature, take their humans for walks and coffee. Peloton and Place is Crawford’s training game. When we are not sleeping on a couch, we are chasing squirrels and birds in our backyard.
