On our Napa journey we were advised that there was a nice little family winery along the Silverado Trail in the Stag’s Leap District. Despite a certain someone’s preference for Chardonnay and Red Blends we scheduled a tasting at the Regusci Ranch. The winer is noted for their red wine–Cab Sauv and Merlot– they also have some special blends that goes along with this wineries history. In sticking to our plan for smaller wineries that we don’t have in our Commonwealth’s post-prohibition stores this family winery checked the box. We learned that the Regusci Ranch is also known for their system of growing and production that allows them to support other regional wineries.

Learn more about Regusci at their site.

What did we taste? All of the above and then a few more. We also sampled the 2021 Zinfandel and the 2021 Angelo’s Cab Sauv. Let’s just say we were not disappointed by any of our tastings. We definitely need to stop at Oakville Grocery before we go to Regusci next time, because some of the wines would really do well with prosciutto, nuts and cheese. Oh the prices above are per bottle, not per sip.

What did we take back to enjoy at the Candlelight Inn- Napa? The 2022 Malbec
What did we decide to ship home? A few special bottles for special occasions. The 2021 flagship wine Matrona Red blend, the 2022 Block 3 Cab Sauv and the 2022 Cab Franc. If It was my pick and my pick alone it would only be 3 bottles of the Block 3 Cab Sauv.
