OK, yesterday’s post was really busy, so we wanted to break it down into a smaller chunk. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children under 14 and the second leading cause in young adults under 40. We have lost one of those young adults that we watched grow up.
We are joining the Wilhelm’s on 09August2025 on the Yough River Trail to raise funds for the Head for the Cure 5k. Our team is following the basic Pittsburgh transportation rule–don’t cross more than two bridges and two tunnels on the same drive to get somewhere. The Head for the Cure Pittsburgh had previously taken place in White Oak Park. After last years record attendance, the organizers have worked with Allegheny County to move the event to North Park. While North Park is an easy drive from Aspinwall, it is a cross country drive from Elizabeth Township. It is almost 75 minutes away from Bar 48. A party bus would not be good for that type of a drive. This led our team to do our own little 5k Walk on the Yough near Buena Vista.
