What Side of this very Big Beautiful Budget Bill are you on?
No matter what side of the bill you are on there are some questions that need to be asked. What can we do for each other? My entire drive from Raleigh to Pittsburgh was full of Interstate re-construction that started during the Biden administration. Almost every bridge on Interstate 79 in West Virginia was being rebuilt. The Eisenhower Interstate System is at a point where we must reinvest to maintain what was built. In most parts of North Carolina–Growth has led to even more highway building since the original Interstate System. Interstate maintenance has typically been funded by matching Federal money with State governments.
How can we build better communities?
Tax code.
Tax code is what influences individual decisions of what to do with their money. Extending the estate tax lifetime deduction to $30 million is a tax code decision that leads toward hoarding money. If you studied economics would you rather have a dollar today or tomorrow?
Financial discussions are not easy. What we learn or don’t learn about money as children impacts us for life. Depending on the stories we are told may lead to a need for CBT.
If you have never heard of Prof. G, I’m including his highly watched Ted Talk that discusses what is going on in the United States.
If you made it this far today, please write your Congress person, tell them preserve Medicaid. This country cannot be great again if all we ever do is look to cut, cut , cut, cut, cut.
Build up each other, rethink taxes as a way to build a better country. Cutting Medicaid will lead to less healthcare for those who need it, in places that have become healthcare desserts.

If you made it this far, you may want to just pet a dog and forget about this heavy stuff, but remember that’s why certain folks are overwhelming you with their messaging.
