27 Feb 2025 Brady’s bend ice after rain

Here in 2025 we’ve had a few deep freezes from polar vortex patterns. The Allegheny River between Parker and East Brady has frozen over during those extreme cold spells. This winter the ice only froze to approximately 14 inches thick. In 2017 the ice froze to over 32 inches thick. In 2017 we had one sudden defrost followed by several days of rain. The results in 2017 pushed the ice and water up over the banks of the Allegheny and onto Seybertown Road in Brady’s Bend Township.

Here’s an update from Thursday 27 Februay 2025. If I only had a drone this would be an interesting one to fly over.
