Summer isn’t over yet we still have a few more weeks of heat and sun in Pennsyltucky! If you love music and singing out loud connected to other humans this is the time of year for some amazing concerts. The Dave Matthews Band Family has been spending the last 20 some Labor Days as Labor Dave’s in Washington State. This years boating weekend is being interrupted with my only trip to PNC Park for something other than a losing baseball team. This has been been a good summer to reframe and pivot on life. Let’s start with the opening act.
It’s that time of year where people believe you should put away the white pants and the white shoes. At least that’s the old wives tale up here in the Northeastern United States.
If you are a Dave Matthews Band fan, this is the Weekend that the band traditionally plays the Gorge at George, Washington.
That is Washington state!
Me being a crazy Dave Matthews Band fan–I have never been to the Gorge at Jorge for Labor DAVE however it is on the bucket list. I just need to find a Dave wife that enjoys camping since that is not Leslie’s thing.
This Labor Day let’s take a moment to chill, get out in nature and appreciate what we have.
I believe Ryan will do that as always on a golf course somewhere near Akron, Ohio.
I believe Annabelle and Lindsey will be doing it somewhere near the villages with their rainbow colored golf carts.
I know here in Pittsburgh we will be celebrating musically with the Saviors Tour bringing song and joy of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and the Linda Lindas to PNC Park.
This will be my only trip to PNC Park for 2024 since I missed the Giants when they came to town earlier this year. I don’t care how nice the park is– I refuse to support a team that is owned by an owner who is OK winning on the balance sheet, but doesn’t want to be a winner in the standings. Sport is about passion and sometimes reason and logic need to be left behind to create the lifelong connection that fans want.
I remember first seeing green day on the warp tour as a headliner when i first was working. All these years later, we still have certain songs that unite our generation and the angst that was going on right before september 11, 2001. Reflecting back on that time really does put this current world order in a different perspective.
Our opening act is only partially old enough for college.

Look out waves here we go in between downpours.
