Dear Dog Family,
I realize I have found a really good re-home. My mom and dad love me and try their best to set me up for success. My brother on the other hand is just another crazy boy who needs to learn boundaries and that the whole world is not out to get him. No matter what my humans do for me there are still a few things that make me nervous–> Thunderstoms, Fireworks and Gunshots. Thanks to better drugs I now tolerate long car rides to see grandma at the beach.

This week with storms whipping through the Ohio River Valley and continuing to Port of Pittsburgh was yet another where mom and dad had to help me calm down. The thunder and lighting overhead for multiple hours put me on edge. I have taught dad to sleep in the middle room with the table as my crate when lightning is present. If he doesn’t do that I will turn the master into a vibrating bed. I need these spring storms to slow down. They are messing up my walk schedule, my poop alignment and evening sleep. I am also messing up my humans sleep, but they love me no matter what.

I’m glad I have a brother. Crawford is trying to get me into the downstairs bathroom where he feels safe. He is starting to channel the power of Reba in her old room, with the tile floor that feels good on his belly. He tries on car rides to share my seat, but he’s just so big he really needs his own row. Thanks to Dr. Lisa working with mom and dad, we finally have created a car ride cocktail that lets me somewhat chill.

I love the river. I may not like boat rides. I may try my best to scare the poop out of grandma. I love to go for walks on the shore. I don’t care for my neighbors fireworks. They need to realize that surprise fireworks are not OK. They need to give me a heads up so I can start my firework medications or at least give me a chance to go to the top of the Bend to look down on them. Our location is full of the first fire and then the echo from the hill. Nervous is an understatement.
Mom and Dad thanks for looking out for me and loving me. No matter what!
Ms. Phoebe

Response
It’s OK Phoebe, we understand. My sister says brothers are annoying too.
