Did you know? In 1963?

Hello Mon Valley– this one goes out to your beloved human polar bear who swam in the Monongahela River and the English Channel. In our effort to share some history of both the valley and the Pittsburgh region this little tid-bit was worthy of a share.

Ok so it may have been on January 23, but with the recent warm spell even this couldn’t happen here in our rivers now.

Once upon a time in the Craven Plan I learned to swim from Mr. Brickner. My learn to swim classes didn’t come until age six, so the fact that I can cross train in the pool or on the paddle board is all thanks to the human polar bear.
