Why we Walk

2020 is definitely the year of fundraisers in the virtual world. Cupid’s Undie Run 2020 happened at McFadden’s in Pittsburgh before COVID-19 entered it’s community spread phase in Allegheny County. Luckily we were able to party a little and run a bit on the streets of Pittsburgh so we could gather with friends, strangers and countrymen in one last run to #endNF before lockdown. This September, the ALS Association of Western PA has taken to the virtual walk approach. Since fall means seasonal shifts for our family and our #COVID-19 pods will be changing due to sports, travel, relocation and construction projects, we decided to get our current familial social pods together a little early. We lost Jim in 2018 after several years of battling against the effects of ALS. Those last few years with him really made our family appreciate all of our time together in and on the Allegheny River. We have continued to carry Jim’s spirit on the river in hope that one day we may find a cure for ALS.

#rileysriverrats tag us on social media. First we took the picture.

Then we did the walk on Bowser Lane!

We could have used the Pitt Cheer Team.
