Phoebe and Crawford are glad to be back home, walking the neighborhood, taking dad out for coffee, practicing Peloton and place, howling at the Aspinwall fire siren and eating fresh cooked dog food.
Do you think it’s irony that the United States celebrates Black History Month, during the Hallmark month of Love and the feast of St. Valentin? Chose Love, not hate. There is only US, not us and them.
This was our little retreat month where we had sunshine, Vitamin Sea, Vitamin D, great people, amazing salt water soaks, massage, self-care, reflection and plenty of music and dancing on the beach as we celebrated life, death, love and humanity on the beach with Dave and Tim. Phish people are just as chill as Dave people. The two degrees of separation in Pittsburgh continued to exist as we met Fox Chapel via Boulder in the Unique Pool and conferred that Casa del Sol is still the best pizza in Aspinwall.
Crawford wanted me ask you- what did you do to actively engage during Black History Month? Crawford made a few baseball catches to honor his namesake team Pittsburgh Crawfords who’s home field in the Hill District- sponsored by the Crawford Grill. The Crawford Grill was definitely in the Green Book during the time where the United States chose to divide itself by skin color instead of accepting that there is only US when you abbreviate the United States. There is no them, in US.
On our trip to and from Mexico I was able to catch up on some movies- Green Book, Say Hey Willie Mays and King Richard. Be careful who’s history you were taught and seek out the truth. Storytellers tell stories the way they see them, the great decline in real news outlets has let to people making decisions without all of the facts. Just because we can economically make choices that allow us to create multiple realities means we should make those choices that leads to the great divide of Us and Them that is going on in the United States, Israel, Palestine, Brasil, Ukraine, Russia, Taiwan, China. . .There is only US.
Celebrate US everyday, not just once every four years. Remember those that don’t work to find solutions for all of humanity are only looking to create chaos that will likely lead to the fall of our one sweet world.
The Caribbean Sea was the clearest, cleanest and warmest we’ve seen over the past five years. The currents have kept the sargasm down in the Yucatan.
