Crawford fact checks the signs

Music, Art, Theater, Stage, Film all give us ways to look at the world differently. I’ve been repeating a line lately that I used a lot back in 2017 with a Junior Soccer player I had a Greensburg Salem. He would always ask if I watched the news last night. I would always say “No- the only news on the news is the inevitable, death, destruction, violence and anger. It’s always out there, I coach so I can help shape a better world for me and for you, so by focusing on what we can control, we pick what is important.” I know at 16 years old that approach may not make sense, but after dealing with life for 40 some years, I realize that putting my energy where it is appreciated is important to me. If you didn’t hear yet, I voted and my county elections board has received my ballot. This experiment called democracy is dependent on each one of us being active participants.

If you think it’s really bad right now in America, here is a song from 1970 by Arlo Guthrie. It was really bad then in America. This experiment in democracy survived that period too. This is an 18 minute listen and watch, but it’s fitting for the present day.

The LINCOLN PROJECT also gives us a new way to help us look at certain types of people. I’m glad they pulled the clip from the Howard Stern interview that I rememberd from many years ago. With great privilege comes great responsibility. Those who think they are fit to lead the greatest societal experiment, but don’t know how to collaborate and build teams may be the ones who are very capable of ending this experiment.

If you want to debate this candidate please check the facts before repeating his incorrect narrative.

How many migrant encounters are there along the US-Mexico border each month?

Data updated October 4, 2024

In August 2024, there were about 58K border encounters. The US Border Patrol reported that encounters were 67.9% lower in August 2024 compared to August 2023. These encounters, which include both the apprehension and expulsion of undocumented migrants at the US-Mexico border between official entry points, do not necessarily represent individual people. The same person can be counted multiple times if they are encountered on more than one occasion.https://usafacts.org/answers/how-many-migrant-encounters-are-there-along-the-us-mexico-border/country/united-states/

How many people apprehended at US borders have a prior criminal conviction?

Data updated October 4, 2024

About 15,300 in 2023. This number of criminal noncitizen arrests represents 0.7% of all border apprehensions by the US Border Patrol (USBP) in 2023. Because one person may be arrested multiple times in the same fiscal year, it’s possible to have more arrests than people arrested.https://usafacts.org/answers/how-many-people-apprehended-at-us-borders-have-a-prior-criminal-conviction/country/united-states/

Are we having all this crime because of drugs and mental health?
